ACE announces external ISO audit success

ACE Production Technologies is pleased to announce that it’s ACE Component Services Group has successfully completed its 2015 ISO 9001:2008 external audit for its component lead tinning services operation. Later this year the ACE Component Services Group will transition to, and be certified to, ISO 9001:2015. The molten solder component lead tinning services offered by ACE Component Services Group are suitable for reconditioning of through-hole and SMT components in order to comply with RoHS or high reliability requirements. Services include refurbishing of legacy components, mitigation of gold embrittlement, conversion of RoHS components to tin-lead, mitigation of tin whiskers, and the conversion of tin-lead components to RoHS compliant.

Process control procedures include incoming solderability testing with a MUST wetting balance, flux chemistry determination, robotically controlled plating removal, flux application, preheating, molten solder dipping and de-bridging, followed by solderability testing per IPC/EIA J-STD-002 and ANSI-GEIA-STD-0006, XRF solder thickness testing and post-solder cleaning if required. The ACE Component Services Group lead tinning services are capable of re-tinning throughhole components including axial, radial, DIPs and SIPs using an exclusive solder dip method as well as various SMT components utilizing a unique drag process. The coplanarity of leadless SMT devices such as LCC’s and QFNs can be maintained within 0.003” (0.075mm) using the proprietary drag process. Leaded fine-pitch SMT components such as QFPs can be re-tinned down to 0.012” (0.3mm) lead pitch with bridge free results.
